Aspire at West Campus is excited to welcome international students from all over the world to on campus housing at University of Iowa.

How to apply

  1. Please visit the Floor Plans page of our website and choose the floor plan that is right for you. 
  2. Once you have selected your floor plan, click on the "Apply" button. You will need to register an account to continue. 
  3. Fill out the entire application. If you choose a Guarantor, they will also need to fill out an application. A guarantor must earn four times the monthly rent installment and have established credit. If you choose to apply by yourself, you must earn two times the monthly rent installment and have established credit. You can also use your I-20 for income verification. 
  4. After you submit your application, you and your Guarantor (if applicable) will go through a credit and background screening. Once completed, a leasing agent will contact you with the results.
  5. Once your application is approved, you and your Guarantor (if applicable) will be sent a lease to sign online. The Guarantor must also sign the lease for you to secure your spot.

Aspire at West Campus is conveniently located on-campus - walk, bike or take the Cambus bus to wherever you need to be! 

When is move-in? 
Move in will be August 10, 2019. 

What floorplans are available? 
1 bedroom - 1 bath, 2 bedroom - 1 bath and 2 bedrooms - 2 bath apartments.

When should I lease?
Spaces are filling up - some floorplans have limited or no availability. Sign your lease to reserve your space!

What is included in rent?
Cable TV, internet, water, trash, sewer, parking and a variety of great community amenities are all included. Electricity and gas are not included.

Is the apartment furnished?
Our apartments come unfurnished and select apartments come furnished with everything you need to feel at home:
  • Bedroom: queen size bed, dresser and nightstand
  • Living Room: couch, coffee table, 2 side tables, chair
  • Kitchen: Appliances, bar stools
  • Washer/dryer - residents can choose whether they would like a washer/dryer in their apartment
What amenities can be found at Aspire at West Campus?
Residents will enjoy a fitness room, study lounges, unlimited free wireless printing, laundry facilities, bike racks, on-site Cambus bus stop, dog park, BBQ picnic areas, walking trails and free parking.

What is an individual lease?

Individual leases are available for our 2 bed, 2 bath floor plans and provides each resident with their own separate lease agreement and responsibility for only their rental installments. By signing an individual lease, you are only taking responsibility for your rental installments and lease term and will not be held liable for any delinquent amounts owed by your roommate(s). The individual lease agreements protects you in the event your roommates cannot make their payments, or if they leave their lease agreement early

How long is a lease agreement?
The lease term is 12 months. The term begins on August 10, 2019 and ends July 31, 2020.


Do I have to pay a security deposit?
Yes, a security deposit of $250 is required per the lease agreement upon approved credit. The security deposit is fully refundable upon move out unless damage to the apartment has occurred. We periodically run specials including $0 signing fees, so be sure to check our website to take advantage of all our specials!

Are you pet friendly?
Yes - we welcome up to two pets per home. Our community does not currently accept the following breeds: Akita Chow, Doberman, Pit Bill, Rottweiler, American Bull Dog. For more information, please contact the leasing office.

How does the roommate matching program work?
If you are applying to one of our floor plans that contains more than one bedroom, the application offers an exclusive roommate-matching service. If you would like to participate, you can complete the roommate matching form built into your application. The form allows you to make notes of any friends applying that you would like to live with. The form also asks you to input your hobbies, interests, sleep routines, pet preferences and study habits. Inputting this information will help the system make the best possible recommendations for someone who may have similar interests and that you will be most compatible to live with throughout your lease term.

Health and Medical Care

The University of Iowa Student Health Center is just a short walk, bike or bus ride away. Enrollment in student insurance is a requirement for international students. For more information on insurance, please visit the University of Iowa website

For emergencies, students can dial 911 on their phone for immediate assistance.
